Modern CPU Performance Analysis on Linux

Why is my code running slow? Answering this question can be surprisingly difficult. Modern Intel CPUs have a wide range of performance monitoring support that can be used to analyze which CPU bottlenecks code hits. Traditionally the open source tools shipped with Linux only supported a small subset of this functionality, but this is now changing. This talk gives an overview over available advanced functionality (it is not a tutorial for basic profiling) and presents some newly developed features. Speaker:Andi Kleen, a long term Linux kernel contributor, Intel
