Usable Hardware Security for Android on ARM devices
Mobile malware is not a big problem. Yet. Traditional security methods can stifle innovation but it doesn’t have to be that way: with an active approach to protecting sensitive services you can have your ice cream sandwich and eat it too: trusted devices and development freedom. Secure services and user experience. Security is not just about fighting the bad. A positive approach can bring a simpler user experience that improves speed and flexibility in payments, work and content delivery. When data, services and identity are safe, the Android ecosystem will be all the sweeter. This session discusses how core features of the ARM architecture combine with modern security, hardware and software isolation techniques to offer a scalable high performance, low cost security option for ARM-based Android devices. The session is targeted towards CTOs/architects. Technical content is low-medium. An appreciation of SoC design and security are beneficial but not essential.
