Pin Control Subsystem Overview

Details

Summary

Many modern SoCs excercise direct control over its packaging pins, but until recently there was no structured way of supporting this in the Linux kernel. Over the past year or two I have implemented a pin control subsystem to handle pin multiplexing and pin configuration. It was initially merged for the 3.2 release cycle and work continues. The intention of this talk is to give an overview of this subsystem and tell about recent and upcoming changes to it. Linus Walleij, ST-Ericsson Linus Walleij has been working as a community coordinator and kernel upstreaming engineer for Ericsson and ST-Ericsson platforms since 2004. He has noted many times that having this name makes for great attention to code reviews on the mailing lists. Currently he is an ST-Ericsson assignee in the Linaro organization.
