Introduce New Branch Tracer 'perf branch'
This session introduces a new branch tracer 'perf branch'. It is the sub-command of perf. It can trace user applications and show the execution path with function name and its offset, executed elf name, pid, address, and more. This sub-command is based on BTS which is Intel x86 processors' facility. It can record the pair of jump from/to addresses on every branch instruction and interrupt. This session will show how to use 'perf branch' and what this can be applied. And, this session will show that this sub-command has a potential to create new debug/test tools for exapmle coverage test tool. Speaker:Akihiro Nagai, Hitachi
